Differences Between Safety Glass and Tempered Glass

Mar. 29, 2018

1. Safety glass: It is a type of glass that is not broken by violent vibration or impact, and is not easy to hurt even if broken. Used for doors, windows, etc. in automobiles, airplanes and special buildings. Buildings use safety glass, which can withstand the attack of bullets or crushed stones in a hurricane of 100 kilometers per hour, which is of particular importance for the modern architecture of the main glass structure. Common types of safety glass are filmed glass, tempered glass, and laminated glass.

2. Tempered glass: Tempered glass belongs to safety glass. Tempered glass is actually a kind of prestressed glass. In order to increase the strength of the glass, chemical or physical methods are usually used to form compressive stress on the glass surface. When the glass receives external force, it first counteracts the stress of the surface layer, thereby increasing the carrying capacity and strengthening the glass's own resistance. Wind pressure, cold and heat, impact and so on.

We produce and export extra large and extra thick tempered glass, for example 300 x 300 mm Tempered Glass and 19mm Tempered Glass.
